It's
an entire month of culture, craft and cuisine. The 'Colours of Malaysia'
brings together activities, exhibitions and events that showcase
the best that Malaysia has to offer. Join in the festivities as
the month kicks off with a parade as well as dance and music performances.
Food festivals and cultural exhibitions are also held throughout
the country.
Gawai Dayak

Venue: Sarawak
The
Ibans, Orang Ulu and the Bidayuh of Sarawak celebrate Gawai Dayak
or the rice harvesting season. This festival is especially enchanting
as traditional ceremonies and dances are held in the various 'long
houses' or communal homes around the State. Visitors will be able
to partake of tuak and other traditional delicacies such as chicken
cooked in bamboo and more at 'open houses' held throughout the 'Land
of Hornbills'
The Birthday of His Majesty
4 June 2005
Venue: Kuala Lumpur
4
June marks the occasion of His Majesty, the Yang di-Pertuan Agong's
(the King of Malaysia) official birthday. Join Their Majesties,
the King and Queen, and Malaysians as they witness the "Trooping
of the Colours" by the armed forces. And keep an eye open for
the many cultural hows and exhibitions generally held in conjunction
with this regal occasion.
Most events are free and open to the public.

Penang International Dragon Boat Festival is an exciting event with
teams from around the region taking part in a splendid display of
colour and noise as brightly painted boats race to rhythmic drum
beating and roaring crowds. This fun filled and afforable outing
is a great way to spend a day with family and friends.
